Efforts To Keep The Sargent RBC

The Sargent Business Community was proud to come out and support the effort to keep the RBC Bank in the West End. We extend our heartfelt thanks to all the volunteers and community members, as well as Leah Gazan and Uzoma Asagwara, for showing their support. We cannot strengthen the West End without each of you! RBC’s decision to close its Sargent Avenue branch on July 11 has deeply concerned the Sargent Business Community and local residents. This move, which redirects customers to an Ellice Avenue location two miles away, disproportionately impacts the West End’s significant population of seniors, newcomers, and those with disabilities who rely on accessible in-person banking. Despite RBC’s substantial profits, the community faces increased costs and safety risks, along with a potential rise in high-interest lenders, threatening the economic stability of our neighborhood.
