A New Hero on the Beat: Meet K9 Willow

The Sargent Business Community is thrilled to welcome the newest (and perhaps most popular) addition to the Winnipeg Police Service: K9 Willow.

Willow is an Electronic Storage Detection (ESD) dog, specially trained to sniff out devices like USB sticks, hard drives, and SD cards that might be hidden during investigations. She was generously donated to the WPS by OUR Rescue, an organization dedicated to fighting child exploitation and sex trafficking worldwide.

Thanks to this partnership, Sgt. Kerrie Webb and Willow now provide our city with a specialized tool to protect children and locate critical evidence that might otherwise go missing. It’s a great example of how community partnerships make our city safer for everyone.

Welcome to the team, Willow! We’re grateful for the work you and Sgt. Webb are doing to keep our families safe.

The following is a post from the Winnipeg Police Service Facebook page:

“Paws for Gratitude

The Winnipeg Police Service thanks Our Rescue for their generous support in making the addition of Electronic Storage Detection (ESD) K9 Willow possible.

Willow was donated to the WPS through OUR Rescue’s ESD K9 program, which supports law enforcement agencies around the world in combating child exploitation and sex trafficking.

Through this program, Willow received specialized training and certification alongside her handler, Sgt. Kerrie Webb.

Because of this partnership, WPS has gained a unique investigative capability that will help locate critical evidence, support victims, and enhance online safety education in our community.

We are grateful for OUR Rescue’s commitment to protecting children and supporting the important work of law enforcement agencies worldwide.

Thank you for helping make this initiative possible.
