Working with the community is something I’m very passionate about. I always enjoy helping others and supporting small businesses and having a business in the West End for over 12 years has shown me what a great community this area can be. Amazing businesses, great restaurants and so many wonderful people.
For the last six years I have been working on organizing the Sargent Business Community. It has been and will continue to be my passion. Thank you to my friends and family for helping with this.
Over the last two years, I have focused on crime prevention. Putting on annual crime prevention conferences, providing resources, and taking on a new role of walking up and down Sargent Avenue helping people who need it.
In the past three weeks I have dealt with many problems and resolved almost all of them. Including administering narcan and naloxone to 13 individuals.
I also walk around the area picking up needles and trash to keep our streets safe and clean so if you want a day out in the sun, please come join me.
Some days it weighs down on you. It seems like you’re doing so much, but you don’t see the end of the tunnel. You ask yourself, why are you doing this?
You’re doing it because it’s the right thing to do, and I thank all of you tonight. Especially the West End BIZ and the City of Winnipeg for showing me that people do notice the work I do.
Thank you Kailyn Gregorash, Phyre Paille, Martin Pasieczka and Joe Kornelsen, and many others for helping me make a difference.
Only together can we make our city stronger.
