NEW FUNDING ALERT: Manitoba Government Launches $10 Million Business Security Rebate Program

We are pleased to share an important announcement from the Manitoba Government that directly benefits our local retailers and small business owners who are dealing with the impact of property crime.

The province has launched a $10 Million Business Security Rebate Program to help businesses repair property damage and make security upgrades.

Key Program Details for Businesses:

  • Who is Eligible? Businesses with 75 or fewer employees per location.
  • What is the Rebate? Up to $2,500 per location on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • What Does it Cover? The rebate covers costs incurred on or after August 23, 2024.

Eligible Security Upgrades and Repairs:

The rebate covers a wide array of security investments and damage repairs, including the purchase of security cameras, alarm systems, motion detectors, window protection, security fencing, and lighting. It also covers repair costs for broken windows, doors, and locks; damages from forced entry or arson; insurance deductibles related to damage repairs; and graffiti removal.

This commitment from the provincial government, which one industry representative called “nationally unprecedented,” is a significant resource for the Sargent Business Community as we work to combat property crime and enhance security across the neighbourhood.
