Sargent Business Community WhatsApp Information Page

We are hoping to open a WhatsApp as a resource for the community; a place for business owners to share information, thieves in the area, etc. This would be a closed resource for exclusively businesses, so there would be no need to worry about the general public seeing what is posted.

What is WhatsApp?

WhatsApp is a cross-platform messaging service, available on Android and iOS. You can download the app on the Apple Store or Google Play, by opening either app and typing “WhatsApp” into the search bar.

How to make a WhatsApp Account

Once you open the app, it will direct you to select your language, whether you accept notifications, and finally adding your phone number.

Once that is complete, you will be led to a profile page. Here you select the name of the account and the photo you want associated. The photo is not required. Afterwards, you will be given the option to add a passkey. This is up to you.

Joining the Sargent Business Community group on WhatsApp

Once you’ve created an account, please email/contact us for an invite link to our community. We’re trying to keep the group as private as possible between the businesses.

Once you are in the community, you will see group chats dedicated to topics like theft, general discussion, events, and resources. These are group chats where you can post about anything under those topics.

FAQ

Q: Won’t there be a lot of notifications?
A: We hope the chats are used for each of their respective uses, however you can easily change notification settings per chat by holding down on the chat you don’t want pop-up notifications from and hitting “Mute Notifications”

Q: I’m not able to contact you, but would like to be involved. How can I go about that?
A: If you are having technical issues, need help, or would like to join but don’t know about emailing, please come to either the next community meeting or Cobra Collectibles for assistance.

Q: Where do I email to be invited? What should I say?
A: Please email sargentbusinesscommunity@gmail.com , and state your business name, address, and your name personally. This will be our verification. If you are from a group/association, please email your name and which association you are a part of.

Q: Who is moderating the group?
A: The Sargent Avenue Business Community presidents, Michael and Phyre Paille, will be moderating the group.
